Viapass Kilometre charge for lorries

On 1 April 2016, Belgium started imposing toll duties on lorries exceeding a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes. Any lorry using the Belgian roads must have an On-Board Unit (OBU) switched on at all times. This OBU registers all kilometres on toll roads and charges them according to the weight and emission class of the lorry concerned. The older or heavier the lorry, the higher the kilometre charge will be. The use of the OBU is subject to police checks and is heavily fined in case of fraudulent use or if switched off. Of course, all our lorries are equipped with such OBUs in order to meet national legislation.
